A V10 Audi R8 R8 has been rumored for months, ever since the Lamborghini on which it is based got a high performance V10 in LP560 trim based on the 10 cylinder motors from the Audi R8 S6 and S8. For Audi R8 ’s halo supercar R8 model to carry a smaller and less powerful engine than the German luxury brand’s huge, cushy and overstyled largest luxury sedan was an injustice not fitting to the R8’s incredible capabilities and styling.

Audi R8 Engine The figures illustrate the outstanding potential of the eight-cylinder unit. At 7,800 rpm the 4.2-liter engine delivers 420 bhp of power output. Peak torque is 317 lb-ft from 4,500 to 6,000 rpm. And no less than 90 per cent of this maximum torque is maintained consistently throughout a wide engine speed range from 3,500 all the way to 7,600 rpm.

As a result of these qualities, the eight-cylinder power unit provides maximum thrust in virtually any driving situation. The performance figures are equally impressive: the R8 accelerates from a standstill to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 187 mph.

Audi stated that the R8 will soon V10 production status after some initial fears that the project can only be cut by a total of heat problems.

Austrian tuner O.CT Tuning has taken the Audi S3 to the next level and upgraded the car with an even sportier look as well as an extra hike in power. An extensive engine modification boosts the output of the sporty compact to 328 hp.

In addition to this, the stock Y-pipe is replaced with a Y-pipe connected to a catalytic converter by HJS designed for racing purposes. A sport exhaust with a butterfly valve enhances the throaty engine note air intake and intercooler is also modified. The results, an amazing 328 hp and 425 Newtonmeters as opposed to 265 hp and 350 Newtonmeters in stock form. The increased in power helps the car’s 0-100 km/h times (0-62 mph) to drop from 6.4 to 5.7 seconds while the 0-160 km/h (0-100 mph) is reduced from 14.3 to 12.74 seconds. Top speed also increases from 250 km/h (155 mph) to 265 km/h (165 mph).

A fully adjustable O.CT-coilover suspension designed especially for the S3 significantly increases cornering prowess and speeds. Of course, the brakes cannot be left unchanged in light of this dramatic increase in performance. So, an 8-piston brake caliper system with 372 mm discs/rotors at the front axle is more than a match for the O.CT Tuning S3s acceleration. The rear stock discs and rotors can also be exchanged for slotted versions.

O.CT D7 19-inch alloy wheels (8,5 x 19 inch) in various colors (black, super polished, etc.) complement the sporty look of the O.CT Tuning S3. Additionally, customers seeking additional individual touches can opt for their carbon-fibre covers for the engine, battery and air intake.

The new tuning accessories from Oettinger for the current Audi A4, and A4 Avant feature a full front bumper with carbon lip, front grill with matte black or silver trim, side skirts, roof spoiler (for sedan only), rear spoiler and 18″ and 19″ one-piece Type RE alloy wheels. Suspension components, high performance brakes, and stainless steel exhaust with left and right twin 76mm tips complete the performance equation. The interior enhancements include aluminum pedal set, aluminum foot rest, floor mats, and stainless steel door sill plates.

Tuning firm from Germany, JE DESIGN, has released its tuning package for the Audi Q7 which focused more on the exterior of the Audi Q7 and priced at 61,000 euro.

The JE DESIGN Audi Q7 Street Rocket features a new frontal spoiler which was lowered a little, headlights with eyelids and 2 pairs of evacuation and a mini-diffuser at the rear.

The Audi Q7 Street Rocket stands on 22-inch wheels while the interior is wrapped in white-beige color and has some carbon insertions.

The JE DESIGN Audi Q7 Street Rocket is powered by a 3.0-liter diesel engine producing 285 hp (standard is 233 hp) while the torque has increased by 50 Nm. The Street Rocket clocked 8.4 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h with the top speed of 219 km/h

The A4 range from 1995 continuing the Audi range of high quality executive cars. In the A4 Audi had a car which rivals the BMW 3 series, albeit without the image. The range includes a selection of body styles from the Saloon to the Estate model. Reliability is up to the usual high Audi standards and the huge range of engine choices ensure there is a model suitable for most drivers needs.

From a tuning point of view on the A4 range we would recommend the 1.8T power plant which really does stand out as the tuners choice. This engine also came as a Quattro option, losing a bit of economy and acceleration but gaining so much extra traction. The 1.8T provides a good mix of economy and power. In the diesel line up we have a maximum power of 150bhp in the 2.5 TDi which provides plenty of scope for power gains when remapped. All other TDi models will benefit from a remap although only the 2.5 TDi will get a large gain for a minimal outlay.

As far as performance models go the early S4 quattro and the recent RS4 put Audi back at the forefront as creators of a car which every driver wants. Some may complain that the S4 and RS4 models are ordinary looking but this car appeals to the driver who doesn’t want to draw attention to himself making the A4 range a car for the purists.

The S-Line package includes 17 inch wheels and a sports suspension which lowers the car by 30mm. It also includes the sports seats, a black trimmed interior with aluminium inserts.There are a few new driver assist systems with the facelifted A6. Audi Side Assist works at speeds of over 30km/h and uses radar sensors to detect cars in other lanes at distances of up to 50 meters away. If a vehicle is detected, a signal on the wing mirror lights up to warn the driver. Audi Lane Assist helps the driver stay in his own lane. A new radar adaptive cruise control helps keep a steady distance between the A6 and the car in front. Finally there is a rear view camera to assist with parking.

New Audi A6 There are 6 petrol and 4 diesel engines available for the A6, all of which feature direct injection. Three gearboxes are available – a manual, Tiptronic automatic or Multitronic CVT. The smallest engine is the 2.0 inline-4 TFSI putting out 170hp, and the largest is the 4.2 liter V8 FSI putting out 350 horsepower. In the middle lies two versions of the 2.8 liter FSI V6 with Audi Valvelift System with two power outputs – 190hp or 220hp. The remaining petrol engine is the 3.0 liter TFSI V6 powered by a supercharger instead of a turbocharger. It produces 290hp at just under 5,000rpm and 420Nm from 2,500rpm, remaining constant up tto 4,850rpm.

New Audi A6 The 4 diesel engines consist of two 2.0 liter inline-4 TDI engines with 135hp (referred to as TDIe) and 170hp respectively, and two V6 engines – a 2.7 TDI V6 with 190hp and 380Nm of torque and a 3.0 TDI V6 with 240hp and 450Nm of torque. The A6 Allroad quattro is only available with the two V6 TDI engines and the 3.0 TFSI engine. The S6 sedan and Avant models are available with a 435hp 5.2 liter V10. Audi’s trademark quattro all-wheel drive is available on all engines with 190hp output and above. It is standard equipment on the high-end models. By default, torque split is 40:60 to the front and rear, but the Torsen differential can divert power up to 65% to the front or 85% to the rear depending on needs.
